Eirene 2 was wife of Ioannes 12 (τοῦ δὲ πρωτοτόκου υἱοῦ ἡ γυνὴ ἥτοι τοῦ Ἰωάννου) and therefore daughter-in-law of St Philaretos (Philaretos 1); she was mother of Bardas 1, Eustathios 1, Niketas 8, Philaretos 3, Helene 1, Euphemia 1 and Hypatia 3: Nicetas, Vita S. Philareti, p. 141, lines 25-26 (νύμφη δὲ τοῦ ἐλεήμονος γέροντος).
