Beatos 3 was the brother of Obelierius (Obelerios 1); when Obelerios 1 entered Venetia for the first time as dux, he made Beatos 3 his colleague in the dignity of dux ("suum fratrem, videlicet Beatum nomine, dignitate fecit sibi socium"): John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 101. The two duces ("predicti duces") mounted a naval expedition against Dalmatia: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 102.

Later Beatos 3, the brother of Obelierios 1, and Niketas 166 sailed to Constantinople taking Venetian hostages, including the bishop Christophoros 57 and Felix 17: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 103. Beatos 3 returned from Constantinople having received from the emperor the dignity of hypatos ("tunc Beatus dux, qui cum Niceta patricio Constantinopolim ivit, in Veneciam reversus, ab imperatore honore ypati condecoratus est"); then beatos 3 and his brother Obelierios 1 duces planned to give their brother Valentinus 6 a share in the dignity of dux ("deinde Obelierius et Beatus duces Valentinum, tercium illorum fratrem, in dignitate sui ducatus habere consortem voluerunt"): John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 104.

Beatos 3 and Willeri (Obelerios 1) were the duces of Venetia who, soon after Christmas 805, together with Paulos 97 and Donatos 12, visited Charlemagne (Karoulos 1) as envoys to discuss the affairs of Venetia and Dalmatia; they gave large gifts to Karoulos 1, who regulated matters concerning Venetia and Dalmatia before dismissing them: Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 806 (p. 122).

In 809 Willeri (Obelerios 1) and Beatus (Beatos 3), duces of Venetia, obstructed the efforts of Paulos 97 to negotiate a peace with Pippin (Pepin 3); they even tried to catch him in ambush: Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 809 (p. 127).

In 810 Venetia was captured by the Franks under Pipin 3 and the duces submitted to him: Annales regni Francorum s.a. 810 (p. 130).

Brother of Obelerios 1; Beatos 3 was dux of Venetia for five years with his brother; they succeeded Ioannes 515 and were succeeded by Angelus Particiacus (Agnello Partecipazio; Angelos 1): Chron. Alt., p. 116 ("Obelerius dux et Beatus frater eius sederunt ann. V").
