Christophoros 57 was bishop of Olivolo in succession to Obelliebatus (Obelliebatos 1): John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 99. Following the successful conspiracy lead by Fortunatus (Phortounatos 2) and Obelerios 1 after the murder of the patriarch of Grado, Ioannes 516, Christophoros 57 fled from Venetia with the two duces Ioannes 515 and Maurikios 15: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 101. His see was occupied by the deacon Ioannes 517 but Christophoros 57 returned from Francia with Phortounatos 2 and eventually regained his see: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., pp. 102-103. Later (in 807) he was taken to Constantinople by Beatos 3 and Niketas 166 as one of the Venetian hostages, and was sent into exile by the emperor; he was bishop of the church of Olivolo for twelve years and was succeeded by a namesake, the priest Christophoros 58: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 103.
