Sergios 47 was a priest and abbot, at Rome; in late 710 he was one of four church officials at Rome murdered by the exarchos John Rizocopus (Ioannes 230): Lib. Pont. 90. 4 ("Sergium abbatem et presbyterum"). No explanantion is given for the murders. Cf. also Petros 66, Saioulos 1 and Sergios 48.
