Bitalianos 4 was a tribunus; sent with Ioulianos 8 and Petros 7 by the people of Ravenna and Leo 114 as envoys to pope Hadrian I (Hadrianos 1), in 772, to inform him that the Lombard king Desiderius (Desiderios 3) had seized Faventia, the duchy of Ferraria and Comiaclum and was causing intolerable shortages in Ravenna, and to ask Hadrianos 1's help: Lib. Pont. 97. 6-7 ("suos missos, scilicet Iulianum, Petrum et Vitalianum, tribunos").
