Aurona 1 was the daughter of Ansprand 1 and presumably of Theodorada 2; she was the sister of Sigiprand 1 and of the Lombard king Liutprand 1: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. VI 22, 50. After her father Ansprand 1 was forced to flee for refuge to the Bavarians (in c. 702), his relatives suffered various afflictions and disfigurements by king Aripert II (Aripert 1), among them Aurona 1, whose features were disfigured like her mother Theodorada 2's (whose nose and ears were cut): Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. VI 22. Aurona 1 had a daughter, Gumperga 1, who later married the Lombard dux of Beneventum, Romoald 2: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. VI 50.
