Andreas 32 was referendarius, serving under the Lombard king Desiderius (Desiderios 3); he and the dux Stabilis 2 were sent by the king in c. 773 as envoys (missi) to pope Hadrian (Hadrianos 1) to invite him for talks; Hadrianos 1 laid down certain conditions and the Lombard envoys returned to the king (Desiderios 3), followed by the papal envoys Pardus (Pardos 7) and Anastasius (Anastasios 37): Lib. Pont. 97. 20-21 ("suos missos ... id est Andream referendarium et Stabilem ducem"). Later (in 774), Desiderios 3, without warning, set out on an expedition to Rome, and sent Andreas 32 and two other (unnamed) iudices as envoys (missi) to the pope to announce his coming: Lib. Pont. 97. 23 ("dirigens suos missos, scilicet praenominatum Andream referendarium et alios duos ex suis iudicibus").
