Theuderada 1 was the daughter of Lupus 1 (dux of Forum Iulii); after the death of her father (c. 664), she was given in marriage by king Grimoald 3 to Grimoald's son, Romoald 1 (dux of Beneventum); they had three sons, Grimoald 4, Gisulf 1 and Arichis 1: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. V 25. She constructed a basilica of St Peter outside the walls of Beneventum, and also established a convent there: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. VI 1. She had a brother, Arnefrit 1: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. V 22.
