A monk from the East, Sokrates 1 sought to join the Stoudite community, but in accordance with monastic rules was told by Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) to return whence he came; he was apparently appointed by the patriarch (Thomas 60) priest and oikonomos at Jerusalem (possibly in the Church of the Holy Apostles on Mt Sion): Theod. Stud., Catech. Parv. 121 (p. 422). The date was after 821 and possibly c. 824 (cf. Anonymus 701 - an aged monk who died after persecution under Leo V, i.e. Leo 15).
