Scholastikios 1 was cubicularius, patricius and exarchus of Italy; soon after the accession of the emperor Anastasius (Anastasios 6) (in 713) Scholastikios 1 (Scolasticius) arrived in Rome with an imperial letter proclaiming the emperor's orthodoxy and his acceptance of the Sixth Ecumenical Council; he presented this to pope Constantine (Konstantinos 136) at Rome before proceeding to Ravenna: Lib. Pont. 90. 11 ("Scolasticius cubicularius, patricius et exarchus Italiae"), Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. VI 34 ("per Scolasticum patricium et exarcum Italiae"). See also Petros 67. He is possibly identical with Scholastikios 4.
