Petros 61 was probably one and the same person who owned a number of seals, all dateable to the late ninth century or the early tenth, when he held office as epi ton barbaron and was promoted from the dignities of hypatos to basilikos spatharios and then to basilikos protospatharios; he also held the title of gerokomos when he was basilikos spatharios and epi ton barbaron. Hypatos and epi ton barbaron; owner of two seals: Zacos and Veglery 3003a and b. The name and titles read: Πέτρῳ ὑπάτῳ καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν βαρβάρων. Basilikos spatharios and gerokomos and epi ton barbaron: Zacos and Veglery 1364. The name and titles read: Πέτρῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ γηροκόμῳ καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν βαρβάρων. Basilikos protospatharios and epi ton barbaron; owner of three seals, one dateable to the second half of the ninth century (Schlumberger), two to the late ninth century or the early tenth (Zacos and Veglery): Schlumberger, Sig., p. 450, no. 11 (facsimile; obv.: bust of emperor with two sons, possibly Basil I (Basilios 7) with Constantine (Konstantinos 141) and Leo 25 or Alexander (Alexandros 10), and the legend Θ(εοτό)κε βοήθ(ει) τῷ σῷ δούλωι; rev.: +Πετρο β(ασιλικῷ) - (πρωτο)σπαθαρηο - (καὶ) επη των βα - ρβαρων), Zacos and Veglery 1386, 2306 (the name and titles read: Πέτρῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν βαρβάρων).
