Peredeo 1 was the Lombard dux of Vicentia ("Peredeo Vicentinus dux"); he and Hildeprand 1 seized Ravenna during the reign of king Liutprand 1, but were attacked by the Romans of Venetia; Hildeprand 1 was captured and Peredeo 1 was killed fighting in battle; he had earlier (the text says later but is evidently in error) been one of the Lombard leaders stationed at Bononia, with Walcari 1 and Rotcari 1 ("ubi tunc Walcari, Peredeo et Rotcari morabantur in castris"), when the city was attacked by a Roman force under Agatho 8; they defeated the Romans, killing many and routing the remainder: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. VI 54, cf. John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 95 ("Paradeus, Vicentinus dux"; captured Ravenna with Hildeprand 1 but was later killed in battle with the Venetici).
