Mountimeros 1 (Mutimir) was a son of Blastimeros 1 (ruler of the Serbs) and brother of Goinikos 1 and Stroimeros 1; on the death of their father, the brothers divided Serbia among themselves: Const. Porph., DAI 32, 42ff. After the defeat of the Bulgars under Michael (Boris 1) Mountimeros 1 and his brothers quarrelled and Mountimeros 1 seized sole power for himself, exiling Goinikos 1 and Stroimeros 1 to Bulgaria and caring only for the son of Goinikos 1, Petros (PBE II): Const. Porph., DAI 32, 57ff. Mountimeros 1 had three sons and was succeeded after his death by the eldest, Pribesthlabos (PBE II; in 890/891; his name was Prvoslav): Const. Porph., DAI 32, 65ff., cf. 32, 50ff. (his sons mentioned). Mutimir (Mountimeros 1) had three sons, Prvoslav (PBE II), Stephanos 159 and Borenas/Bran (Branos 1); see Const. Porph., DAI 32, 52; 32, 67.
