Marinianos 2 was apparently also known as Fuscarus son of Gregorius ("Marinianus seu Fuscarus Gregorii"): John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 101. After the murder of the patriarch of Grado, Ioannes 516, by the duces Ioannes 515 and Maurikios 15 a conspiracy was formed against the duces by the new patriarch Fortunatus (Phortounatos 2) with Obelerios 1, Felix 17, Demetrios 38, Marinianos 2 and other senior Venetici.
