Leoninos 2 (Leoninus) was a consul and dux (in Italy, perhaps of Rome), later becoming a monk; he died in the pontificate of Hadrian I (Hadrianos 1) and bequeathed to the see of St Peter, to atone for his sins ("ob veniam suorum delictorum"), a property which he had inherited from his parents, one quarter ("tres uncias") of the massa Aratiana, situated near the Via Ardeatina; the Church of St Hedistus stood on it; Hadrianos 1 transformed the church and incorporated the estate, together with adjoining estates comprising half ("alias sex uncias") of the massa Aratiana (see Petros 73, Agnes 1 and Theodote 3), into the domusculta of St Hedistus; Leoninos 2 gave another estate of his also, the massa Acutiana, which adjoined the massa Aratiana, to St Peter: Lib. Pont. 97. 63. The location of these estates is apparently not determined; see Duchesne, Lib. Pont. III, p. 106.
