Isaakios 7 was kourator of the (female) monastery of Tou Kloubiou at Constantinople, whose estates he managed (Sabas 1 called him: Ἰσαάκιος δέ τις κουράτωρ προαστείων ἑνὸς τῶν περὶ τὴν βασιλεύουσαν πόλιν περιβοήτων γυναικείου σεμνίου, καλουμένου Κλουβίου; Petros 126 called him: Ἰσαάκιος τις τοὔνομα, κουράτωρ γενόμενος τῆς μονῆς τῆς ἐπονομαζομένης τοῦ Κλουβίου); Isaakios 7 visited St Ioannikios (Ioannikios 2) (then on Mt Trichalix, near the monastery of the Agauroi) for prayers, together with the monks Dositheos 2 and Eustratios 19, and was urged to become a monk himself; he said that this was his wish but he needed the permission of the hegoumene of the monastery (Anonyma 56), his employer, and she refused it; when he returned to Constantinople he was accompanied by Dositheos 2 and Eustratios 19, whom Ioannikios 2 instructed to intercede with the hegoumene (Anonyma 56); at first she insisted that she needed his services too badly and could not afford to lose them; then she relented, but finally changed her mind again and refused, following pressure from the Stoudite monks under Athanasios 8 and Naukratios 1; Isaakios 7 was then sent away by Anonyma 56 to one of her estates, where shortly afterwards he fell ill and died three days after receiving the tonsure: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 33, Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 57.
