Ioseph 14 was bishop of Eporedia (Ivrea, in Liguria) ("Ioseph, episcopus ecclesiae Eporediensis"); in 844 he was one of the Italian bishops who attended the Council of Rome with Drogo 1; they had not been summoned by their metropolitans but went because they had criticisms to make against pope Sergius II (Sergios 60): Lib. Pont. 104. 14. In 853 he was one of the four bishops sent by the emperors Lothar and Louis (Lotharios 1 and Lodoïchos 1) to attend the Council summoned at Rome under pope Leo IV (Leo 121): Lib. Pont. 105. 91 ("Ioseph Eporegensis") (the others were Nottingus 1, Petros 95 and Petros 96).
