Gregorios 10 was the son of Mousoulakios 1 (ὁ τοῦ Μουσουλακίου): Theoph. AM 6270, Theoph. AM 6295.
In 778 Gregorios 10 was commander of the Opsikianoi in the combined armies sent by the emperor Leo IV (Leo 4) against Syria (χιλιάδες ρ', ὧν ἡγοῦντο ... Γρηγόριος ὁ τοῦ Μουσουλακίου τῶν Ὀψικιάνων); they besieged but failed to capture Germanikeia but defeated an Arab army under Thoumamas 1: Theoph. AM 6270. His fellow-commanders were Michael 5 Lachanodrakon, Artabasdos 3, Tatzates 1 and Karisterotzes 1. Gregorios 10 was strategos (or komes) of the Opsikion, but the exact title is not recorded in Theophanes.
In 802 Gregorios 10 was a patrikios (Γρηγόριος πατρίκιος: Theoph. AM 6295); on 31 October he was among those who supported the overthrow of the empress Eirene 1 by Nikephoros 8; like the others he is strongly criticised in Theophanes because he had received great riches from Eirene 1 and had professed the greatest loyalty to her; his motive for supporting Nikephoros 8 is said to have been greed: Theoph. AM 6295. For seals possibly owned by him, see Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 83 (cf. Gregorios 114, Gregorios 115 and Gregorios 121).
