Gregorios 121 aws an anthypatos, patrikios and komes of the theophylakton basilikon Opsikion; owner of two very similar seals dateable to the early ninth century: DOSeals III 39.29 = Zacos and Veglery 1962, Zacos and Veglery 3113A (a better specimen). Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .... - οριω αν - θυ' πατρι' .. - !μ' του θ.. - φ' β' Οψικ - ιου. The name and titles read: Γρηγορίῳ ἀνθυπάτῳ πατρικίῳ καὶ κόμιτι τοῦ θεοφυλάκτου βασιλικοῦ Ὀψικίου. The owners of Zacos and Veglery 1961 and 1963, both very similar seals, could be the same person as this. Cf. Gregorios 114 and Gregorios 115. A third specimen, possibly from the same boulloterion, is published by Cheynet, "Les sceaux du Musée d'Iznik", REB 49 (1991), pp. 225-226, no. 8 (mid to late eighth century).
