Georgios 127 was bishop of Ostia; on 15 November 753 he was in the retinue of pope Stephen III (II) (Stephanos 8) when Stephanos 8 set out from Ticinum (Pavia) for Francia; he presumably accompanied the pope when the papal party left Rome on 14 October: Lib. Pont. 94. 23 ("Georgium episcopum Hostense").

Georgios 127 is perhaps identifiable with the later bishop of Amiens, one of the twelve bishops learned in Scripture and the canon law, whom Charlemagne and Carloman (Karoulos 1 and Karoulomannos 2) sent from Francia to attend the Council held at Rome in April 769 to investigate the case of the antipope Constantine (Konstantinos 140): Lib. Pont. 97. 17 ("Georgio, episcopo civitate Ambienensis"). He is also possibly to be identified with "Georgius sanctissimus episcopus" who was an envoy of Karoulos 1 in 773 to pope Hadrian I (Hadrianos 1), together with Gulfard 1 and Albuinus (Alcuin 1); they were sent to confirm that the Lombard king Desiderios 3 had restored to the see of St Peter the captured cities, as he had declared to Karoulos 1; finding that this was false, the envoys, accompanied by papal envoys, visited Desiderios 3 on their way back and found that he had not returned the captured cities; they urged him to do so, in vain, and then returned to Francia to inform Karoulos 1: Lib. Pont. 97. 26-27.
