Georgios 9 was a patrikios and, jointly with Theophylaktos 3, genikos kommerkiarios of the apotheke of Hellespontos; he and Theophylaktos were joint owners of a seal dated 708/709 (see below): DOSeals III 47.1 = Zacos and Veglery 206 = Oikonomides, Dated Seals, pp. 39-40, no. 27. Obv.: busts of Justinian II and his son Tiberios, (indiction) seven, and an inscription reading: Γεωργιου π - ατρικιου - και Θεοφυλ - .κτου. Rev.: γενι - κων κομμ - ερκιαριω - . αποθηκης - .λλισπ. - .τ.. The name and titles read: Γεωργίου πατρικίου καὶ Θεοφυλάκτου γενικῶν κομμερκιαρίων ἀποθήκης Ἑλλισπόντου. The seventh indiction in the joint reign of Justinian II and Tiberios was 708/709; see Oikonomides, op. cit., p. 40. The same two men are known from another seal also. Georgios was patrikios and, jointly with Theophylaktos 3, archon of the blattion; the seal was apparently dated to 705/706: Zacos and Veglery 205. The names and titles read: Γεωργίου πατρικίου καὶ Θεοφυλάκτου ἀρχοντης τοῦ βλαττίου (sic). Cf. also Georgios 121 and Theophylaktos 55.
