Erastos 2 was a Stoudite monk and a disciple of Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite); though not a priest (he was ἔξω ἱερωσύνης τελοῦντι), he administered the rite of baptism to a dying child, encouraged by Thomas 59, Euthymios 19 and Iakobos 13; he also disclosed information heard in confession about a case of adultery to the relatives of those involved so that they could end it and administered the last rites to a komitissa (Anonyma 79) who had committed suicide; he was criticised for all this by Antonios 34, bishop of Dyrrhachion, in a letter to Theodoros 15 and Theodoros replied with a letter in his defence (πρὸς ἀπολογίαν τῆς περὶ τὸν ἀδελφὸν Ἔραστον ἐγκλήσεως) justifying his actions; he is referred to as τόνδε τὸν μονάζοντα, ὁ ἀδελφός and as μαθητῇ ἡμῶν: Theod. Stud., Ep. 462 (?c. 823). He presumably lived in Dyrrhachion.
