Donos 1 was magister militum and sacellarius of the exarchos of Italy, Isaac (Isaakios 2); in 643 or 644 he was sent to Rome by Isaac with troops in order to suppress the revolt of Maurikios 7; on his arrival the revolt collapsed and Donos sent Maurikios to Isaac at Ravenna escorted by Marinos 11 and Thomas 26: Lib. Pont. 75. 2 ("misit Donum magistrum militum et sacellarium suum ad civitate Romana cum exercitu"). Cf. also PLRE III, pp. 419- 420, s.v. Donus 2.
