Arsaber 6 was a patrikios; he married Kalomaria 1 (sister of the empress Theodora 2); later he became magistros: Theoph. Cont. IV 22 (p. 175) (Ἀρσαβὴρ τῷ τηνικαῦτα μὲν πατρικίῳ, ἔπειτα δὲ καὶ μαγίστρῳ), Scyl., p. 98 (Ἀρσαβὴρ μαγίστρῳ, ἀνδρὶ γενναίῳ καὶ ἐν τοῖς τότε καίροις διαπρέποντι).

According to one possible reading of the text of Theophanes Continuatus, Arsaber 6 was the brother of Eirene 6 and maternal uncle of the future patriarch Photios 1, and also father of Stephanos 76 and Bardas 13, and he died before his wife Kalomaria 1. This is probably not a correct interpretation, however; see Sergios 44, Eirene 4 and Eirene 6.
