Anonymus 309 was a dwarf who grew up at Turin in the household of the Lombard king Godepert 1 ( erat quidam parvus homunculus ex propria familia Godeperti oriundus in civitate Taurinensium ); Anonymus 309 avenged the murder of Godepert 1 by killing the man who betrayed him, Garipald 1, in Turin on Easter Sunday; afterwards Anonymus 309 was himself killed by Garipald 1's followers: Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. IV 51. The date was Easter 663.
