Andreas 63 was bishop of Chalcedon; he was asked by Anastasios 87, who wanted to recover his title of komes, to intercede for him with the empress Eirene (Eirene 1) and at first he refused, but when Andreas 63 heard through one of his clergy that Anastasios 87 knew of the whereabouts of the lost relics of St Euphemia on Lesbos he passed the information to the patriarch Tarasios (Tarasios 1) and also enabled Anastasios 87 to pursue his request: Constantine of Tios, Encomium Euphemiae 13-14, pp. 101-102. For the date, shortly before the return to Constantinople of the relics of St Euphemia in 796, see Theoph. AM 6258.
