Albgar 1 was nephew of a certain Unroch; he was sent by Louis the Pious (Lodoïchos 2) with the Byzantine envoy Nikephoros 69 and the Frankish Count Kadolah 1 to Dalmatia to decide frontier issues on the spot: Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 817.
