Zosimos 2 was one of the closest disciples (συνέκδημοι) of the Paulician leader Sergios 1; he lived first at Argaoun, near Melitene, and later at Tephrike in Armenia; he and Basilios 2 encountered Peter of Sicily (Petros 1) at Tephrike in 869 and gave him much of the information about the beliefs of the Paulicians which Peter of Sicily incorporated in his report to the emperors and included in the Historia Chreiodes: Peter of Sicily, 182, 188.
