Thomas 58 was a monk; he and the hegoumenos Euthymios 12 visited Ioannikios 2 to receive his blessing; after being told by Ioannikios 2 that his death was imminent, Thomas 58 put his affairs in order, gave all that he had to the poor and died fifteen days later: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 35 (ἕτερος μοναχὸς Θωμᾶς καλούμενος), Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 65 (Θωμᾶς ὃν εὐλαβέστατος μοναχός). This apparently took place while Ioannikios 2 was living near to the monastery of Antidios, and probably late in the reign of Michael II (Michael 10) or soon afterwards; see Ioannikios 2.
