Theognostos 6 was metropolitan bishop of an unnamed see; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh or eighth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 951 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 259. Obv.: Hagia Sophia personified with the legend ἡ ἅγια Σοφία. Rev.: Θεο - [γν]ωστ - ου μητρ - οπολι - τ(ου). Laurent corrects both date and name as given by Konstantopoulos (Θεοδωσίου, eighth or ninth century). Cf. Theognostos 5. A similar seal is published by Likhachev, Molivdovuly LVIII 15 (M-6275); the text reads: Θεογνώστου μητροπολίτου.
