Theodoros 53 was a calligrapher at Constantinople and owner of a workshop near the Church of SS. Ioannes and Phocas; he bound a copy of the libelli of Vigilius into a copy of the Acts of the Fifth Ecumenical Council for the patriarch Paul II (Paulos 2, 641-653) (and see also Konstantinos 24): Riedinger, p. 652, lines 20-22 (= Mansi XI 596) (τὰ δὲ γραφέντα παρὰ τοῦ αὐτοῦ Σεργίου (= Sergios 12) .... ἐνέβαλεν ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ Ῥωμαϊκῷ βιβλίῳ Θεόδωρος ὁ καλλιγράφος, ὅστις εἶχε τὸ ἐργαστήριον εἰς τὸν ἅγιον Ἰωαννοφωκᾶν).
