Stratonikos 1 was bishop of Soloi in Cyprus; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last five sessions (sessions fourteen to eighteen, from 5 April to 16 September); he and the bishop of Kition, Tychon 1, are regularly associated as both from Cyprus, and their signatures occur together: Riedinger, pp. 634-825 (= Mansi XI 585-673). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Στρατόνικος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Σολίων πόλεως (so Riedinger, p. 786, line 13 (= Mansi XI 645); Riedinger, p. 825, line 9 (= Mansi XI 673) reads: ἐπίσκοπος Σόλων) τῆς Κυπρίων νήσου: Riedinger, p. 786, line 13, p. 825, line 9 (= Mansi XI 645, 673).
