Strategos 1 was archon of Kriotabros (?; see below); owner of a seal of uncertain date, possibly ninth or tenth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 285, no. 3 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 178. Neither editor could read the obverse. Schlumberger read the reverse: ...λου ἄρχοντος τοῦ ἁγίου σταβροῦ (for σταυροῦ); Konstantopoulos read: [Σ]τρατήγου ἄρχοντος τοῦ Κριωτάβρου. Schlumberger identified the owner with an officer of the thema of Charsianon who in the time of Leo VI (Leo 25) brought back a fragment of the True Cross; Konstantopoulos however claimed that the reading Κριωταβρου was quite clear, but he does not identify Kriotabros nor does he suggest a date.
