Serop 1 was father of Nikephoros 44; he is named on the seal owned by his son which is dateable to the first half of the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2229. The names read: Νικηφόρῳ υἱῷ Σηρο. (perhaps Σηροπ). The name of this person is not fully legible, but Zacos and Veglery suggest that it may be Armenian.
