Nikephoros 44 was the son of Serop 1; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2229. The names read: Νικηφόρῳ υἱῷ Σηροπ. Zacos and Veglery, loc. cit., suggest that the name Serop may be Armenian.
