Sergios 59 was father of pope Sergius II (Sergios 60); his wife (Anonyma 52) was of high rank, and so probably was he; they lived in Rome in the fourth district; Sergios 59 died before his son reached the age of twelve: Lib. Pont. 104. 1. Presumably father also of Benedictus (Benediktos 6), the brother of Sergios 60: Lib. Pont. 104. 40A. He was probably a native of Rome, like Sergios 60.
