Philippos 8 was a kommerkiarios of Abydos; joint-owner with Niketas 60 of a seal dateable perhaps to the ninth or tenth century: Mordtmann, "Byz. Molybdoboullon" I, p. 10 (reference in Schlumberger, Sig., p. 196 with note 2). Philippos 8 and Niketas 60 were kommerkiarioi of Abydos (no text or date is given by Schlumberger, but these officials are attested from the ninth century) . Cf. Antoniadis-Bibicou, Douanes, p. 237, no. 141.
