Petronas 14 was anthypatos, patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and komes of the Opsikion; owner of a seal dateable to the mid ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 3165. The name and titles read: Πετρωνᾷ ἀνθυπάτῳ πατρικίῳ, βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ κόμητι τοῦ Ὀψικίου. The same person is probably identical with ...ro.., anthypatos, patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and komes of the Opsikion, who also owned a seal dateable to the mid ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 2574A. The name and titles read: ...ρο.. ἀνθυπάτῳ, πατρικίῳ, βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ κόμητι τοῦ Ὀψικίου. Cf. Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, pp. 35, 76. He may be identical with the man probably called Petronas who held the same titles and who owned another seal also of mid ninth century date: DOSeals III 39.35 = Zacos and Veglery 2607. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .ετρ. - .α αθυπ' πα - .ρικ' βα' σπα - αρ' και κομι. - . οψηκιο.. See Basilios 112 (where the name was wrongly restored as Basileios).
