Pantaleon 13 was logothetes; addressee of two letters from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) written between 821 and 824/6: Theod. Stud., Epp. 425, pp. 594-596 (early 821); 523, p. 780 (824/826) (both addressed Παντολέοντι λογοθέτῃ). Pantaleon 13 had spoken in support of the veneration of icons and was asked by Theodoros 15 to intercede with the emperor Michael II (Michael 10) in connection with the persecution of iconophiles; he is styled τοῦ ὑπερτίμου δεσπότου μου (p. 594, lines 2-3): Theod. Stud., Ep. 425, pp. 594- 596. He was also asked by Theodoros 15 to help Theodotos 47 over problems arising from the embassy to Louis the Pious and connected with the oikonomos Theodoros 328; he is styled ἡ ἀνυπέρβλητός σου ὑπεροχή (p. 780, lines 11-12) and addressed as δέσποτα παμπόθητε (p. 780, line 16); the letter also alludes to his wife: Theod. Stud., Ep. 523, p. 780.
