Nikolaos 84 was a eunuch of the empress Theodora 2; he was said to have been responsible for killing without orders from the empress thousands of Arabs held captive by the Romans and released by agreement with the Arab envoy Nashif 1; the date was allegedly in the year 1172 Sel. (860/861): Bar Hebr., p. 142.
