Leo 256 and his wife (Anonyma 63) lived in the town of Acheirao (or Achyraos, Vita C); his wife was beset by an evil spirit and began to gnaw her own flesh, but she was miraculously cured by Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) by the laying on of hands and by prayer; in token of the miracle all their finger and toenails fell out at the moment of the healing; the event took place between 821 and 826: Vita A Theod.
