Leo 229 was basilikos spatharios and logothetes of the Dromos; owner of seals dateable to the ninth century, possibly mid century (so Laurent): Zacos and Veglery 2145a and b (ninth century) = Laurent, Corpus II 423A-C (M IXth century). The name and titles read: Λέοντι βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ λογοθέτῃ τοῦ δρόμου. Cf. also Leo 224, who may be the same person.
