Leo 224 was basilikos protospatharios and logothetes of the Dromos; owner of seals dateable to the ninth century, possibly mid century: Zacos and Veglery 3139 (ninth century) = Laurent, Corpus II, no. 424A and B (M IX). The name and titles read: Λέοντι βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ λογοθέτῃ τοῦ δρόμου. Cf. the similar seal in Panchenko, Katalog, p. 175, no. 492. Laurent identifies this man with Leo 229.
