Leo 143 was basilikos spatharios and kommerkiarios of Chaldia; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 156. The name and titles read: Λέοντ[ι] βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ κουμερκιαρίῳ Χαλδία[σ]. Cf. also Leo 225.
