Konstantinos 293 was a hypatos; addressee of a letter from Ignatius the Deacon (Ignatios 9) asking him to order the return to certain monasteries under the jurisdiction of the bishop of Nikomedeia of money exacted from them for the xenodocheion of Pylai by Anonymus 758; he was approached because of his success in public affairs (ἐν ταῖς τῶν δημοσίων πραγμάτων προκοπαῖς), which Ignatios 9 knew about, and because of his piety (ζῆλον εὐσεβείας), of which Ignatios 9 had had personal experience; Ignatios 9 refers to τὴν ὑμετέραν μεγαλόνοιαν and ἡ ἀκριβὴς ὑμῶν σύνεσις: Ignatius Diac., Ep. 6 (addressed Κωνσταντίνῳ ὑπάτῳ).
