Konstantinos 114 was basilikos strator and archon of Thessalonike; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 103, no. 4 (with facsimile), and p. 362. Obv.: patriarchal cross, on four steps, with the legend Schlumberger misread the title as β(ασιλικῷ) στρατηγάρχ() Θεσα(λονίκης), but the symbol after στρατ resembles the normal abbreviation for και, which gives a more normal reading (cf. facsimile). For the combination of titles, see Basilios 33. Cf. however Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 106. Cf. also DOSeals I 18.13 (a seal of the tenth century, belonging to a Konstantinos basilikos strator and archon of Thessalonike, not the same seal), citing also Mordtmann, "Inscriptions", p. 195 (similar to the Schlumberger seal). The Mordtmann seal resembles the one in the possession of Schlumberger so closely that it is probably either the same seal or another specimen struck from the same boulloterion; Mordtmann read his correctly, as follows: obv.: double cross, without arabesques, on four steps, with the legend Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ; rev.: Κ.. - νσταντ - ινω β' στ - ρα' (καὶ) ἀρχ' - Θεσα'. Kyriakides, Meletai 355, dated the Schlumberger seal to the ninth or tenth century; Sokolova judged it to be no earlier than the late ninth (see Winkelmann, loc. cit.).
