Basilios 33 was a basilikos strator and archon of Thessalonike; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: DOSeals I 18.12. Possibly the chief of an ethnic minority, though other meanings are possible; see DOSeals I, p. 56 (referring to Oikonomides, Listes, pp. 342-343). The same man probably owned another seal (perhaps another specimen of the same seal) with the same name and titles, dateable between the mid ninth and the early tenth centuries: Zacos, Seals II 104. Obv.: cross with tendrils; circular legend reading +Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθη τῷ σῷ δούλῳ.
