Konstantinos 23 was archdeacon of the Great Church (Hagia Sophia) of Constantinople and primikerios of the notarioi of the patriarch: Riedinger, p. 266, lines 26-29, p. 284, lines 3-6, p. 408, lines 16-19, p. 522, lines 5-7, p. 576, lines 21-24 (= Mansi XI 381, 389, 460, 521, 553) (Κωνσταντῖνος ὁ θεοσεβέστατος ἀρχιδιάκονος τῆς ἐνταῦθα ἁγιωτάτης τοῦ θεοῦ καθολικῆς καὶ ἀποστολικῆς μεγάλης ἐκκλησίας, καὶ πριμμικήριος τῶν θεοσεβεστάτων νοταρίων Γεωργίου τοῦ ἁγιωτάτου ἀρχιεπισκόπου Κωνσταντινουπόλεως, or similar). At the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) he introduced the ninth session by reminding the emperor and Council that the process of comparing texts chosen from the Fathers by Makarios 1 in support of monotheletism, which had been begun at the previous session, was to continue at the present one; he also introduced a group of bishops and clergy suspected of heresy who were waiting at the entrance and asked for them to be admitted in order to defend themselves: Riedinger, pp. 266-267 (= Mansi XI 381). He introduced the proceedings of the tenth session on 18 March 681, reminding the Council that the previous session had heard texts produced by Makarios 1 and Stephanos 17 in support of monotheletism and had resolved to hear at the next session texts produced by the representatives from Rome as well as statements of their faith from Petros 18 and others suspected of heretical tendencies: Riedinger, p. 284 (= Mansi XI 389-392). He then introduced the eleventh session (20 March), reminding the emperor and Council of the request from Georgios 16 that the synodika of the former archbishop of Jerusalem be read out: Riedinger, p. 408 (= Mansi XI 460). He opened the twelfth session (22 March) by reminding the Council of the emperor's statement that he had further writings of Makarios 1 which the Council should hear and reporting that the kuaistor Ioannes 59 was at hand bearing documents: Riedinger, p. 522 (= Mansi XI 521). On 28 March he introduced the business of the thirteenth session, recalling that a decision was awaited about the patriarch Sergios, pope Honorios and the patriarch Sophronios, and that the bishops and clergy subject to the see of Antioch had requested a new bishop to replace Makarios 1: Riedinger, pp. 576-578 (= Mansi XI 553). On 5 April he introduced the fourteenth session, reminding the Council that various documents examined at the previous session had been found heretical and consequently destroyed and recalling the wish of the Western bishops to examine copies of the Fifth Ecumenical Council to see if forged documents had been inserted: Riedinger, pp. 636-638 (= Mansi XI 585-588).
