Ioannes 502 was bishop of Rome; owner of a seal dateable between the sixth and the eighth century: Laurent, Orghidan 383. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Ιωαννου. Rev.: + - επισκ - Ρ' μς - +. There were several popes called Ioannes in this period (Ioannes 31, Ioannes 227, Ioannes 228 or Ioannes 243), any of whom could have owned this seal.
