Ioannes 201 was basilikos spatharios and droungarios of the Aigaion Pelagos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Gray Birch, BMSeals 17541 (= Schlumberger, Sig., p. 194, n. 1). Obv.: invocative monogram of Κύριε βοήθει with the legend τω - σω - δου - λω. Rev.: Ἰωάννῃ β(ασιλικῷ) σπ(αθαρίῳ) (καὶ) δρουγ(γαρίῳ) τοῦ Αἰγέου Πελάγους. (The line divisions are not recorded). The seals of Ioannes 199, Ioannes 200 and Ioannes 201 all differ in some respects but may still have belonged to one and the same person.
